What if I lost my driver’s license and I need to drive to work ASAP?
All you need to do as a first step is go to any RTA branch (Road & Transport Authority) and apply for a replacement. - The total cost is AED 120 (AED 10 for knowledge fees and AED 110 for replacing a lost or damaged driver’s license fees).
- These service fees can be paid using various payment methods, credit card or direct debit from one of the following banks: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Dubai Commercial Bank and Union National Bank.
- It usually takes less than an hour to reissue a license (approx. 30 minutes).
- Once the documents are handed over, and the services are paid for at the licensing counter, get the receipt and wait for your name to be called.
- You can apply for this service online and have your license card collected from one of the RTA collection desks to handover the damaged license or the lost certificate.
